Hello Kitty Non-woven Drawstring Bag Project Case
Vamart holds qualified certification for manufacturing IP derivative bags and undertook mass production of Hello Kitty themed non-woven drawstring bags. This pink Hello Kitty drawstring bag is designed for children’s lightweight storage. Made from non-woven fabric and printed with large IP cartoon graphics, the product targets overseas e-commerce retail channels. The project focused on solving processing difficulties including non-woven fabric printing, cut piece forming and drawstring assembly. IP copyright control was enforced throughout the whole process to achieve mass production and delivery successfully.
Project Overview
This product is a Hello Kitty non-woven drawstring backpack. It features a gradient pink base printed with bow and polka dot subtle patterns. A large main Hello Kitty cartoon graphic is printed on the front panel. It adopts a dual-side cord structure with a drawstring closure at the top, ideal for kids to store toys, spare clothes and beach accessories. Constructed from lightweight non-woven material, the bag balances cost efficiency and eco-friendliness. It is sold via overseas online retail channels and must meet safety requirements for children’s products.Processing IP products differs from ordinary non-woven bags. Printing films, printed cut pieces and semi-finished goods are strictly controlled during production. IP artwork is only used in designated workshops to prevent image leakage, and complete material records are maintained.
Core Processing Challenges
Non-woven fabric stretches easily, which was the biggest manufacturing challenge for this project. First, the soft and unstable tension of non-woven fabric may cause registration misalignment and graphic distortion during large-area cartoon printing. The fine lines of Hello Kitty’s outline and bow will be visually compromised by even minor deviations. Second, non-woven fabric has limited seam strength. The drawstring eyelet position is prone to tearing under repeated pulling force. Third, multi-color printing requires high color fidelity. The soft gradient pink background and crisp black outline of the main character must be printed without ink bleeding or overflow.
Customized Processing Solutions
After raw material arrival, we first inspect non-woven rolls, selecting materials with consistent thickness and stable tensile property and conducting tension tests in advance to mitigate distortion risks during printing. Roll-to-roll screen printing is adopted. We print the subtle bow and polka dot base pattern first, then overprint the main Hello Kitty graphic. Conveyor speed is controlled to stabilize fabric tension and ensure precise registration, keeping sharp graphic edges free of ink bleeding. The first piece from every batch is kept as a reference against the approved Pantone color card for color difference control. After printing, the material proceeds to die cutting. Custom steel dies punch out the bag outline in one stroke to guarantee consistent dimensions and reduce rough edges compared with manual cutting. The bag body is sewn into shape. To solve the tearing issue of non-woven fabric, reinforcing patches are added at drawstring eyelets for extra strength. We select suitable needle size and reduce presser foot pressure during sewing to avoid fabric cracking from needle perforation. Finally, pink drawcords and cord locks are fitted to finish assembly.
Full-Link Processing Quality ControlIn-line
inspection is set for every processing stage. Incoming rolls are checked for grammage and breaking strength. The printing station verifies graphic registration, ink bleeding and color difference piece by piece. The cutting process samples dimensions and edge quality. Sewing operators focus on reinforced eyelets and conduct pull tests. Finished bags undergo repeated drawstring pull tests to check for eyelet tearing, alongside full visual inspection for stains and printing defects.Only fully inspected qualified goods can be packed, warehoused and shipped. Client’s third-party QC team may carry out on-site random inspections at any time.
