Project Overview
The product in this project is Disney kids’ insulated lunch bag. It is made of wear-resistant oxford fabric on the outer layer, laminated with aluminum foil thermal lining, designed for children’s school use and short outdoor picnics. The client sells through North American supermarket channels, and finished goods must comply with US children’s product safety regulations. After order placement, sampling, confirmation, mass production and sea shipment must be finished within the agreed timeline.Unlike ordinary thermal bags, IP lunch bags require IP copyright control throughout the whole manufacturing process. Printing films, cut pieces and semi-finished products are managed under closed supervision to prevent leakage of IP artwork, with material records kept for every production procedure.
Core Project Challenges
There are three major difficulties in this project. Firstly, children’s products carry high safety thresholds. Fabrics, adhesives and inks must be free of hazardous substances. All raw materials need third-party testing and qualified reports before mass production. Secondly, the lunch bags feature rich printed cartoon characters with multi-layered colours, which demand precise print registration and high colour fidelity with stable colour difference control. Thirdly, strict functional standards apply to the product. The aluminum foil lining must be firmly laminated without delamination or odour, thermal performance must meet client specifications, and stitching on the bag shall be soft to avoid hurting children’s skin.
Customized Production Solutions
Vamart’s technical team thoroughly reviewed the client’s tech pack in advance and selected eco-friendly fabrics and food-grade aluminum foil. All raw materials go through third-party testing before warehouse entry. Our printing workshop conducts multiple colour-matching sampling, repeatedly cross-referencing the client’s Pantone colour cards and locking optimal printing parameters to ensure consistency between bulk artwork and approved samples.For the lamination process, we optimized hot-pressing parameters to reduce adhesive residue and avoid odour and delamination risks. During production, we prioritized different workstations and advanced fabric inspection, printing, lamination and sewing simultaneously with well-planned scheduling to guarantee overall lead time.
Full-Link Quality Control
Full-chain quality inspection was implemented for the project. Raw materials are tested for heavy metals, phthalates and other restricted substances for children’s products upon arrival. Printing batches are checked against colour cards and graphic details. Lamination strength is sampled and inspected. Sewing stations perform regular checks on stitching density, loose threads and sharp edges to prevent scratches. Finished products undergo thermal retention tests, drop tests, load tests and full visual inspection. The client’s third-party QC team may conduct on-site random inspections at any time. Goods can only be packed, warehoused and arranged for shipment after passing all inspections.Project Outcome & SummaryThe project successfully manufactured and delivered all 72,000 Disney lunch bags to the North American market on time.
